Quality

This page will explain the Quality measures for MIPS, and how to perform those measures in TRAKnet.

What is Quality?

Quality is one of four categories that factor into your overall MIPS Composite score. For more information about MIPS and its parent program, MACRA, click here.

Quality effective replaces PQRS. Six Quality measures must be reported to receive credit, and they must all be reported with the same method. TRAKnet is optimized for reporting through Claims or Registry and supports reporting for 11 measures (though only 9 of those measures are supported by Claims reporting).

Registry and Claims-based Reporting

Like PQRS, Quality measures can be submitted through claims or through the registry. Once you have decided between claims or registry reporting, you must set your reporting method in TRAKnet. To do this, go to Tools, Options, Quality Measures - MIPS/MACRA and set your Reporting Method to either Registry or Claims. This will change how the measures are performed in TRAKnet and how the report is displayed.

Registry Submission

Registry-based submission applies to all patients seen by the provider. To submit quality measures via registry, the QDC that corresponds to an option within that measure must be selected from the MIPS/MACRA tab in the invoice and exported or uploaded to the registry. For more information on how to perform each suggested registry-based measure, click here.

Claims Submission

Claims-based submission only applies to Medicare Part B patients. To submit quality measures via claims, the QDC that corresponds to an option within that measure must be added to the invoice and sent on claims. For more information on how to perform each suggested claims-based measure, click here.
