Patient Groups

Patient Groups
When working with patients it is sometimes required to work with those patients as a specific group. This wiki page will detail how to setup patient groups and the locations which they can be used in.

Creating a Patient Group

Patients Groups are created by adding a patient group under patients in the Properties section of TRAKnet.

  • Step 1 – Navigate to Properties on the left hand side.
  • Step 2 – Right click on Patients

  • Step 3 – Click Add Group

  • Step 4 - Enter your Group information and click save.

Assigning a Patient to a Group

Once your groups have been created you can assign your patients to those groups.

  • Step 1 – Search for and select the patient you would like to assign to a group.
  • Step 2 – Click the Actions drop down menu and select Groups

  • Step 3 – Add the patient to a group
    • Click the Add button in the top left
    • Search for and select the group

* Click OK

  • Step 4 – Once the group has been selected Click OK

Using Patient Groups

There are two locations that you can use patient groups.

  • Properties > Patient search
  • Statements > Patient Groups

Patient Search

Using groups in the patient search helps narrow down the possible results when searching patients. Examples of some uses for patient groups

  • Provider
  • Location
  • Insurance Type

Statements by Group

Using groups when sending statements can help further sort those patient statements. Some examples of groups used for statements.

  • Remit to Provider/Location
  • Insurance Type

To use groups when sending statements go to the Statements screen on the Billing dashboard. The Group filter will be found in the top right.

When used the Group filter will work with the other Statement filters and allow the user to send Remits by group.
