Date Links

This page will explain how the «VisitDate» and «TodaysDate» links work in TRAKnet 3.0 in relation to one another and during the process of copying encounters.

VisitDate

When an encounter is created from the patient's chart, the VisitDate link will default to today's date, and will change if the date is changed through the calendar in the Visit Note tab. When an encounter is created from the scheduler through an appointment, the VisitDate link will default to the date of the appointment, and will also change if the date is changed through the calendar.

When copying a previous encounter, the visit date will follow the previous logic, regardless of if the encounter is copied through the chart or through the scheduler. The VisitDate link should never be affected by the "Reset «TodaysDate» to Visit Date?" option being checked or unchecked during the copy process.

TodaysDate

When an encounter is created from the patient chart, the TodaysDate link will default to today's date, and can be changed by clicking the link. When an encounter is created from the scheduler, the TodaysDate link will default to the appointment date, and can be changed by clicking the link. If multiple TodaysDate links are in the note, each of them can be changed without affecting the other.

When copying a previous encounter, keeping the "Reset «TodaysDate» to Visit Date?" option checked will change the TodaysDate link to the date of the encounter, which would either be today's date if the encounter is created through the chart, or the appointment date if created through the scheduler. If multiple TodaysDate links are in the note, all of them will be changed to reflect the date of the encounter. If the "Reset «TodaysDate» to Visit Date?" is unchecked, the TodaysDate link should remain identical to the link from the previous encounter. If multiple TodaysDate links are in the note, all of them will remain identical to the links from the previous encounter.

Option to Reset TodaysDate

When a previous encounter is copied into a new encounter, the user will be prompted with the option to reset the TodaysDate links in the encounter. If "Reset «TodaysDate» to Visit Date?" remains checked, all TodaysDate links in the encounter will change to reflect the visit date. If the option is unchecked, all TodaysDate links will appear identical to the links from the previous encounter.
