Z_Archived Patient Portal Refill Requests

The new TRAKnet Patient Portal was released on June 29th, 2018. Click here to learn more about setting up the new portal. The below information is ARCHIVED.

This page will walk the user through the online refill request feature of the patient portal.

Requesting a Refill

Patients are able to request refills for medications online through the patient portal so long as the medication was original prescribed by the provider in TRAKnet 3.0. As such, the requester must be an established patient in the practice's patient portal and the practice must have uploaded the medications to the patient portal for the refill function to be present. For an explanation on uploading medications and allergies to the patient portal, please click here.

Once medications are listed on the patient's records on the portal, the patient can click on the patient they would like to request a refill for and select the Medications icon on their member review progress screen.

The list of all medications will be available. To request a refill, the patient will click the Refill button next to a medication, which will send an alert to the practice's admin portal.

Approving or Denying a Request

Refill requests will be automatically made available on the practice's admin site and an alert will appear in the TRAKnet software, informing the user that a patient has requested a refill.

Clicking on the alert under the Patient Portal drop-down menu will take the user to the Admin page of the patient portal. Note that the user must be logged into the portal for this to take them to the notifications window; otherwise, the user must log into the admin site then navigate to Refill Requests on the Home screen.

Clicking on the refill requests button will open the list of pending refill requests. The user will either approve or deny these requests as needed. Note that approving or denying the request only sends an email to the patient informing them of the office's decision; it does not automatically refill the prescription. The user will then need to reorder the medication in TRAKnet or through the pharmacy for the refill request to be fully processed.
